PARTLY

Partly true: Zoey OS is a real AI desktop agent app with a free download and 1,000+ connectors, but the 'while you slept' briefing is a scripted ad from the product's own page and its numbers are staged

Facebook · Oct 2026

The claim'Finally, an AI agent that works while I sleep.' Overnight Zoey 'ran competitive analysis on your three biggest competitors', pulled analytics ('website traffic up 12%, email open rates climbed three points'), 'set up three automations to monitor their moves in real time', 'pinged your team on Slack with a briefing' and 'queued up today's content calendar.' 'Comment Zoey for a FREE download.'

Zoey OS exists. Its site, zoeyos.com, describes a desktop AI companion with one long-running conversation and memory, 'workers' that carry out tasks, browsing through your own browser session, and connections to 1,000+ apps including Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion, HubSpot and Stripe. It launched on Product Hunt and BetaList in late August 2026, with almost no public reviews yet. Directory listings show a free plan and paid tiers (Builder about $90 a month, Architect about $170); we could not confirm those prices on the official site, which says 'free to download' and runs country waitlists. So the 'free download' is true, and it is the front door to paid plans. The reel is a first-party ad: the product's own page, a voiceover addressed to the founder by first name, and a glowing 3D orb on a laptop. Every number in it (traffic up 12%, open rates up three points) is a script line, not a shown dashboard, and nothing on screen proves an overnight run happened. Overnight agent runs are realistic in 2026; any tool with scheduling and connectors can pull analytics and post a Slack summary. 'Competitive analysis' done unattended is usually a web search summary, and 'monitor their moves in real time' depends on what the automation can actually reach. 'Comment Zoey' is a lead-capture hook for an app with a public download page.

What holds up

  • Reel read frame by frame: a laptop in a dark room showing a pink particle orb labeled ZOEY, a calendar and task panel, and text panes too small to read; caption overlays only repeat the voiceover; no analytics dashboard, Slack message or competitor report is shown.
  • zoeyos.com: 'Free to download', country waitlists, one continuous conversation with memory, autonomous workers, 1,000+ integrations (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, Notion, GitHub, HubSpot, Stripe and more); contact hello@zoeyos.com.
  • BetaList lists Zoey OS as featured Aug 27, 2026, a voice-first AI workspace with an orchestrator and companions; Product Hunt shows 0 reviews; third-party directories list Explorer (free), Builder ($90/mo) and Architect ($170/mo), not confirmed on the official site.

What doesn’t

  • First-party ad presented as a personal 'my AI did this while I slept' moment.
  • The metrics are voiceover lines with no dashboard behind them.
  • Comment-for-link hook for a product with a public download page; paid tiers are not mentioned.

The catch

A real, new agent app whose ad shows a scripted best case. The overnight briefing is achievable with Zoey or any scheduled agent, but only for the data sources you connect and verify, and nothing in the reel proves the outcomes it lists.

How to actually do it

  • Skip the comment funnel: download from zoeyos.com (or join the country waitlist), and check the current plan limits before connecting work accounts.
  • Connect read-only first (analytics, calendar) and set one scheduled job: a 6 AM summary of yesterday's traffic and email stats posted to a private Slack channel.
  • Check the briefing against the source dashboards for a week before trusting its numbers or letting it post, email or change anything on its own.

Zoey OS is a real desktop AI agent with a free download, memory, workers and 1,000+ connectors, launched in late August 2026. The reel is the maker's own scripted ad whose overnight results are narrated, not shown, so build and verify a small scheduled briefing before believing the rest.
