REAL
Real: giving an AI coding tool a PRD, design system, architecture doc and agent rules before it writes code is sound practice; the 'comment DOCS' bundle is just the hook
The claimCaption: 'Vibe coding without structure is just speedrunning hallucinations and broken builds. Before writing a single line of code, your AI needs locked-in project context.' First 4 of 8 docs: PRD (scope, user journeys, feature specs), Design System (UI tokens, layout, components), Architecture (stack, data flow, boundaries), AI Agents Guide (rules and constraints for Cursor and other LLM tools). 'Comment DOCS' for the remaining 4 and a markdown template pack. (The video itself is music over screens.)
This is solid advice. AI coding assistants do better work when the project's goals, constraints and conventions are written down where the tool can read them every session. The four documents named are the standard ones: a requirements doc so it builds the right thing, a design system so the UI stays consistent, an architecture note so it doesn't invent a new stack, and a rules file for the agent itself. Claude Code reads a CLAUDE.md file, Cursor reads rules files, and many tools now read an AGENTS.md, so the 'AI Agents Guide' maps directly to a real feature. Nothing here needs the gated bundle; you can write short versions of all four yourself in an hour. The only caution is length: these files are read on every request, so keep them tight.
What holds up
- Caption read in full in Todd's logged-in browser; the video audio is music only (transcribed).
- Claude Code (CLAUDE.md), Cursor (rules files) and AGENTS.md are documented ways to give coding agents persistent project context.
- PRD, design system and architecture docs are standard software practice.
What doesn’t
- The remaining four docs and templates are gated behind a comment-and-DM hook.
The catch
The docs are the right idea and free to write. Keep them short, because the agent reads them every time.
How to actually do it
- Write a one-page PRD: who it's for, what it must do, what's out of scope.
- Add a CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md with your stack, folder layout, commands and do-nots.
- Add design tokens (colors, spacing, fonts) and a short architecture note, then point the agent at them before the first prompt.
Project-context docs (PRD, design system, architecture, agent rules) genuinely improve AI coding; write them yourself, no bundle needed.
