PARTLY
Partly: VEED's AI studio can turn a business's review into a short UGC-style ad in minutes, but '$500 a video, 15 clients on retainer, two hours a day' is unproven and the review trick has legal strings
The claimOver a celebrity clip ('old websites are dead, do this instead'): search 'gyms near me', grab a five-star review off the business's website, paste it into VEED's gen-AI studio, the auto-script tool writes it, and 10 minutes later it 'spits out a fully edited UGC ad: voice, B-roll, captions... the business owner cannot even tell it's AI.' Sell it for about $500; 'I have 15 clients on retainer right now and probably work two hours a day.' 'Comment veed' for the playbook and cold-DM template.
The tool part is real: VEED has AI script, avatar, voice and auto-caption features, and a short testimonial-style ad can be produced from a review in well under an hour. The rest is unverified marketing. The reel shows no client list, invoices or results, and '15 clients on retainer at two hours a day' is the classic side-hustle income claim that ends in 'comment for the playbook.' There are also real strings attached to the method: turning a customer's review into an ad voiced by an AI actor can run into platform terms and FTC endorsement rules if it implies a real customer said it on camera, and 'the owner can't tell it's AI' is not a selling point you want in writing. Local businesses do buy short video ads, so the service is legitimate if it is sold honestly and the review is used with permission.
What holds up
- Reel transcribed in full (faster-whisper large-v3); screen recording shows the VEED web app with saved projects.
- VEED publicly offers AI script, avatar, voice and subtitle tools.
- No evidence of the 15 retainer clients, pricing acceptance or hours worked is shown.
What doesn’t
- Income and client claims are unshown.
- Using a customer's review in an AI-voiced ad without permission can breach endorsement rules.
- Engagement-bait funnel ('comment veed' for a playbook).
The catch
Making the video is the easy 10 minutes. Selling it is the job, and it only lasts if you're upfront that it's an AI-produced ad and the business owns the review you use.
How to actually do it
- Make one sample ad for a business you know, using a review they approve, and label it as an AI-produced spot.
- Price it against what local video costs in your market, not a reel's number.
- Read your tool's terms on AI avatars and commercial use before selling.
VEED can make a quick review-based video ad; the retainer income is unproven and the review must be used with permission and disclosed honestly.
