PARTLY
Partly true: 'The dark web has a directory, Tor.li, educational purposes only' is a real site, but it is an ad-supported darknet-market link list, not a research resource, and the reel is pure curiosity bait
The claim'Hi, the dark web has a directory. And this is it. This is Tor.li, a website that helps you discover different Tor-related resources in one place. Explore responsibly. Educational purposes only.' Caption: 'Tor.li is a directory that brings together Tor-related websites, tools, and resources in one place. It gives you a quick look into the Tor ecosystem and helps you understand how onion services are organized.' On screen: 'Tor.li, your gateway to the Dark Web' over a 'Prime Market' banner and a grid of forum icons.
The site exists and it is a directory, so the literal claim holds. What the reel calls 'Tor-related resources' is, in the site's own words, 'Best DarkWeb Links': categories for Forums, Markets, Shops, AI Tools, Search engines, News and Services, with the Markets section linking to darknet drug markets by name (Drughub, BlackOps, Torzon, WeTheNorth and others) and banner ads for two of those markets paying the bills. The footer credits a single operator, 'Draga'. The grid in the reel is the forums page: Dread, Pitch, Tenebris, HackTown, Germania and the like, which are the darknet's own message boards, with a 'Prime Market' ad across the top. None of that is said out loud; 'educational purposes only' is the disclaimer that lets a drug-market link list run as a tech-tips reel to 121K viewers. There is also a practical hazard the reel skips: link directories are where fake 'mirror' links and phishing copies of markets get planted, and 'All links are verified regularly' is the operator's word. For a business owner there is nothing here. The only dark-web question that matters to a company is whether its passwords or customer data are being sold there, and a link list does not answer it. The poster is selling nothing but views.
What holds up
- Reel read frame by frame: masked presenter, on-screen title 'Tor.li, your gateway to the Dark Web', a 'PRIME MARKET' banner and a 4x3 grid of forum tiles (Pitch, Dread, Tenebris, Cloak, TorChat, KHAZAD, HackTown, Placebo Chat, Germania, Cebulka, OnionSpace, The Secret Garden), closing on 'Educational purposes only. Use responsibly.'
- tor.li (read Oct 2, 2026) titles itself 'Best DarkWeb Links', lists categories including Markets and Shops, links darknet markets by name (Drughub, BlackOps, Torzon, Awazon, WeTheNorth, Thor Market), runs banner ads for DrugHub and BlackOps, and signs off '© 2026 Tor.li by Draga. All links are verified regularly.'
- The site's only advisory is 'Use Tor and onion services responsibly'; it carries no research, OSINT or safety content that would make it educational in any ordinary sense.
- No product, course or affiliate link is attached to the reel; the payoff is reach (121K views, 1.8K reactions) on a 14-second clip.
What doesn’t
- 'Tor-related resources' is a euphemism for a list that is mostly darknet markets and forums, funded by market advertising.
- 'All links are verified' rests on one anonymous operator; directories like this are a known delivery route for phishing mirrors of the markets they list.
- 'Educational purposes only' is a disclaimer, not an education; the reel teaches nothing about Tor, onion services or safety.
- Zero relevance to a business owner, who is being shown a drug-market index as tech content.
The catch
If you are curious about Tor, get the Tor Browser from torproject.org and read its own documentation; that is the educational resource, and it is free. If you are a business owner, the dark-web question worth your time is whether your logins and customer records have leaked, and that is answered by breach-notification services and password hygiene, not by a market directory. Do not click onion links from a social-media reel.
How to actually do it
- Register your business domains with a free breach-notification service (Have I Been Pwned offers domain alerts) so you learn when staff credentials show up in dumps.
- Turn on a password manager and two-factor authentication for every shared business login; that closes the door most leaked credentials walk through.
- If you genuinely want to understand Tor, install Tor Browser from torproject.org and read its support pages; skip third-party link lists entirely.
- If you suspect customer data is being sold, call your cyber-insurance carrier or an incident-response firm; do not go looking on market directories yourself.
Tor.li is real and is a directory, so the reel is not lying, but it presents an ad-funded list of darknet markets and forums as an educational look at the Tor ecosystem. There is no honest business use for it. The useful version of the topic is breach monitoring and login hygiene, which take an afternoon and cost nothing.
