PARTLY

Partly true: Claude Projects really do bundle custom instructions and knowledge files, but two of Techpresso's five 'steal these' setups (Inbox Zero, Analyst on Call) need connectors or uploads a Project alone does not give you, and the post is a newsletter lead magnet

Facebook · Oct 2026

The claim'Almost nobody shares their Claude Projects, the whole setup, with custom instructions and knowledge files, so Claude works like a specialist from the first message.' Five to steal: Content Machine, Sales Closer, Second Brain ('files your notes, then answers from everything you know'), Analyst on Call ('reads your data and hands back the decision'), Inbox Zero ('triages your inbox and writes the replies'). 'Copy the setup, attach your files, start working in a click.' '630,000+ professionals use our prompt libraries. Free.' (link card: 500,000+).

The core feature is real. Anthropic's help centre describes Projects as workspaces with their own custom instructions and a knowledge base of uploaded files, open to free users (up to five Projects) and paid plans, with retrieval that stretches knowledge capacity on paid plans. Sharing a Project with colleagues is a Team and Enterprise feature, so 'copy the setup' really means pasting someone's instructions into your own Project. Content Machine and Sales Closer are just good instructions plus your writing samples; those work. The stretch is in the other three. A Project does not 'file your notes'; it reads files you upload, and keeps them only if you add them to the knowledge base. 'Analyst on Call reads your data' works only on files you attach, and 'hands back the decision' oversells it. 'Inbox Zero triages your inbox' needs the Gmail connector, which gained drafting and sending replies on paid plans in August 2026; a Project alone cannot see your inbox. The numbers do not reconcile either: the post says 630,000+, its own link card says 500,000+, Dupple's own pages cite 300,000+ to 770K newsletter subscribers, and techpresso.co lists no prompt library at all. This is a free download that trades your email for a newsletter subscription.

What holds up

  • Anthropic help article 'What are projects?' (fetched Oct 12, 2026): Projects have custom instructions and a knowledge base; free users get up to five; paid plans get RAG for larger knowledge; sharing with view/edit permissions is Team and Enterprise only.
  • Gmail connector: Claude gained draft and send for Gmail replies on all paid plans, reported Aug 20, 2026, with optional approval before send. Inbox access comes from the connector, not from Project instructions or knowledge files.
  • techpresso.co fetched: a free daily AI and tech newsletter under Dupple, with an academy link; no prompt library or Claude Projects page and no 500K or 630K figure on the homepage. Dupple's advertise page lists Techpresso at 770K subscribers; its Claude tool page says 300,000+ professionals.
  • The post text says 630,000+ and the link card in the same ad says 500,000+; the two figures in one ad do not match.
  • Same 'steal my Claude team' funnel shape as x-ref #452 and the comment-for-the-guide funnels x-ref #298, #309, #313.

What doesn’t

  • Lead magnet: the 'free' setups gate behind techpresso.co, which signs you up for the newsletter.
  • Inbox Zero and Analyst on Call imply live access to your inbox and data; that requires connectors or uploads, plus a paid plan for Gmail reply.
  • Two different user counts (630,000+ vs 500,000+) in one ad, for a 'prompt library' that the brand's own site does not list.

The catch

Projects are a solid way to make Claude start every chat as a specialist, and copying good instructions is worth doing. But the setup is the easy part; the value comes from your own knowledge files and, for inbox or data jobs, from connecting the actual tools, which no downloaded template does for you.

How to actually do it

  • Create a Project in Claude, write instructions for one job (role, audience, voice, output format, what to ask before answering), and upload 3 to 10 of your own examples as knowledge; you do not need anyone's template to do this.
  • For inbox work, turn on the Gmail connector in Settings, Connectors (paid plan), and keep approval before send switched on; for data work, attach the actual CSV or spreadsheet and ask for the analysis plus its assumptions, not 'the decision'.
  • If you want team-wide shared Projects, that is a Team or Enterprise plan feature; on Pro, share by copying the instructions text.

Custom instructions and knowledge files in Claude Projects are real and the simpler setups work as described. Inbox triage and data analysis need connectors or uploaded files that a Project template cannot supply, and the ad's user counts contradict each other.
