The product is real. SpaceXAI launched Grok Bot on Aug 11, 2026 as always-on agents with their own cloud computer, a chief-of-staff bot coordinating worker bots, and 24/7 operation. The post is not. Nothing on x.ai/news, docs.x.ai or @SpaceXAI matches a one-hour course with those chapters; the video is a watermarked third-party upload with no link, and the same account posted the identical text and video on Aug 21 before re-posting it Sep 1 with its own article attached. Its feed runs the same template daily, including 'leaked' internal engineering notes that appear as an Anthropic document one day and an xAI document the next with the logo swapped. 'Free' is wrong: Grok Bot requires SuperGrok at $30 a month (Lite at $10 does not include it), with Plus at $100 and Heavy at $300; beta launched Heavy-only with no free tier. SpaceXAI publishes no per-plan Grok Bot quota; the top reply reports burning all tokens in under a day, another says a $200 plan's weekly allotment goes in a day, and Musk issued a one-time bonus token reset on Sep 1 because users hit limits faster than expected. xAI's terms cap liability at $100.

What holds up

  • Grok Bot exists: announced by SpaceXAI on Aug 11, 2026 as persistent cloud agents (own VM, browser, filesystem, terminal, memory) with a lead bot coordinating specialist bots in parallel, expanded to SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and Cursor Teams on Aug 26, and given an X integration on Aug 29.
  • SpaceXAI is a real name: SpaceX announced its all-stock acquisition of xAI on Feb 2, 2026; the rebrand to SpaceXAI LLC and the @SpaceXAI handle went live in early July 2026, and x.ai's footer now reads SpaceXAI LLC.
  • The chapter list describes real Grok Bot features (roles, 24/7 running, parallel bots), and Grok Bot usage is metered separately from normal Grok chat usage per SpaceXAI's Aug 26 note.

What doesn't

  • 'Never' is unsupportable — current Claude produces coherent, sometimes distinctive visual design today; the gap is context, not capability
  • The slick site used to 'prove' human superiority is exactly what AI produces unassisted — and viewers can't verify it wasn't AI-assisted
  • Soft self-interest: it's authority content from a designer whose livelihood the claim defends
  • The build-vs-design binary is already stale — the real 2026 split is AI defaults vs human-directed AI output, and the winners use both

The catch

Grok Bot is a real, interesting product, but this post is engagement bait wrapped around it: an unattributed re-upload posted twice, sold as 'free' for a product that starts at $30 a month and runs to $300, with usage caps the vendor will not publish and that paying users say they exhaust in a day. The account's habit of relabeling the same 'leaked' documents with different company logos means nothing it posts should be taken as a source. X's own Original Content Rewards rules, which replace revenue sharing on Sep 8, explicitly exclude re-uploads with only a watermark or caption added.

How to actually do it

  • Read the primary source instead of the repost: x.ai/news/introducing-grok-bot and docs.x.ai/grok-bot/overview take ten minutes and tell you exactly what a bot can and cannot do. Pick one repetitive, tool-based, low-risk job (inbox triage, report assembly, form filling) before you buy anything.
  • Trial it at the $30 SuperGrok tier with one bot on one task for 30 days, on a sandbox account with no bank, payment or admin access, and log how fast you hit the usage wall. Run the same task on a competitor (Claude Cowork at $100, ChatGPT Agent at $20) before scaling to Plus or Heavy.
  • If you want a course, use a linked, attributed one, for example Nate Herk's public two-hour Grok Bot course on YouTube, or SpaceXAI's own docs. Treat any watermarked re-upload with no source, and any 'leaked internal document' that changes company logos day to day, as noise.

Product real, post is a recycled unsourced re-upload; the honest route is the $30 tier, one sandboxed bot, one task, thirty days.
