PARTLY

Partly true: prompts.chat is a real, free, open prompt library with over 10,000 community prompts and a working MCP server, but 'the world's biggest' and 'your AI automatically knows which prompt fits' go a step past what it does

Facebook · Oct 2026

The claim'Someone just created the world's biggest AI prompt library and they're giving it away for free. It's called Prompts Chat.' Over 10,000 prompts plus ready-made skills, and you can connect it as an MCP directly to Claude or ChatGPT so 'your AI automatically knows which prompts fit each situation.' Comment 'school' for the link plus a free AI agents course.

The library is real and genuinely free. prompts.chat (the GitHub project f/prompts.chat, formerly Awesome ChatGPT Prompts) is a large, community-driven collection with over 174,000 stars, and its prompt content is released into the public domain under CC0, so 'free' is accurate. Its README does document an MCP server (prompts.chat/api/mcp), so connecting it to Claude or ChatGPT as an MCP is a real, supported feature. Two bits are softer than the reel. 'The world's biggest' is plausible but unprovable; it is one of the biggest, with rivals. And 'your AI automatically knows which prompt fits' overstates how it works: the MCP lets the model search and pull prompts, which is useful, but you still ask and choose, it is not a silent auto-selector. The 'comment school for the link plus a free agents course' line is the real ask here; the library itself needs no gatekeeper, since it is a public repo. Useful tool, mild hype, a follower funnel on top.

What holds up

  • Reel transcribed in full and caption read.
  • Confirmed f/prompts.chat on GitHub: 10,000-plus prompts, about 174,000 stars, prompt content under CC0, and an MCP server documented in the README (prompts.chat/api/mcp).
  • Confirmed MCP lets a model search and fetch prompts; it does not silently auto-select without a request.

What doesn’t

  • 'World's biggest' is plausible but unprovable.
  • 'Automatically knows which prompt fits' overstates search-and-fetch.
  • Comment-for-link plus a free-course funnel on a public repo.

The catch

The library and its MCP are real and free. The auto-magic framing, and the comment funnel, are the sell.

How to actually do it

  • Browse prompts.chat directly; the full library is public and free.
  • If you want it in Claude or ChatGPT, add its MCP server from the README instead of commenting for a link.
  • Treat prompts as starting points and edit them for your own use.

A real free prompt library with a working MCP; 'biggest' and 'auto-selects' are the mild overstatements.
