PARTLY Partly true: Claude Opus 5.5 is real and can write the scroll code, but the exploded-watch site comes from rendered or AI-generated frames, not a single prompt, and 'comment BUILD' is a DM funnel Facebook · Sep 2026

The claim'Pov: you mastered the art of interactive websites', over a laptop showing a dark luxury-watch landing page ('CALIBRE', 'six beats a second, slowed twelve times', '102 parts. Nothing hidden.', 'Rebuilt screw by screw', 'Blued steel & ruby', 'Wear the Calibre') where the watch explodes into parts as you scroll. On-screen: 'Comment BUILD for prompt.' Caption: 'Comment the word BUILD for an updated guide on how to use opus 5.5.'

The model is real. Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 on September 22, 2026, two days before this reel, at $4/$20 per million input/output tokens, saying it performs at the level of Fable 5.1 on most work. Nothing in Anthropic's announcement is specifically about web design or 3D. The site in the reel is also a known, doable build: a scroll-driven page where a product comes apart piece by piece as you scroll. What the reel hides is where the watch comes from. Photoreal exploded-watch imagery like this is not something a language model draws in code. It is either a real 3D model rendered in Three.js, or (more commonly in 2026) a sequence of 100+ still frames: an AI image tool makes the assembled and exploded watch, a video model like Kling or Veo animates between them, and the frames play on a canvas as you scroll. Opus 5.5 can write that scroll code well from a decent prompt. It cannot supply the watch. So 'the prompt' is maybe a third of the job; the rest is making the assets, tuning load times (a hundred-plus images is heavy on phones), and writing real copy. 'Comment BUILD' is a comment-to-DM hook that grows the account; what the DM sends (free prompt, paid guide, or community) could not be checked without commenting. The same tech-plus-hook pattern shows up in x-ref #259 and #261.

What holds up

  • Contact sheet read frame by frame: 'Pov: You mastered the art of interactive websites', a laptop scrolling a watch site with section headlines 'CALIBRE', 'Six beats a second. Slowed twelve times.', '102 parts. Nothing hidden.', 'Cotes de Geneve', 'Blued steel & ruby', 'Rebuilt screw by screw', 'Wear the Calibre'; overlay 'Comment BUILD for prompt'. Audio is music only.
  • Claude Opus 5.5 verified on anthropic.com: released Sep 22, 2026, $4/$20 per million tokens, 'performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most work'; no web-design or 3D-specific claims in the launch post (also covered by TechCrunch and 9to5Mac on Sep 22).
  • The scroll-exploded-product technique is widely documented in 2026: generate assembled and exploded product images, animate between them with Kling or Veo, extract frames, and have Claude Code build a canvas image sequence scrubbed with GSAP ScrollTrigger (Chase AI, MindStudio, and others). The alternative is a real 3D model in Three.js.
  • Poster is a small account (~7.5K views on this reel); no public product page or price for the 'BUILD' guide was found, so what the DM delivers is unverified.

What doesn’t

  • 'Comment BUILD for prompt' implies one prompt makes the site; the photoreal watch needs generated or rendered frames or a 3D model that the prompt does not create.
  • Comment-to-DM hook: grows reach and a DM list; the 'updated guide' may lead to a paid product or community (not verified).
  • A 100+ frame image-sequence page is heavy; without compression and a mobile fallback it loads slowly on phones, which the laptop demo does not show.
  • x-ref #259 and #261: same pattern of a real Claude capability plus a flashy demo sold through a comment funnel.

The catch

Opus 5.5 is real and will write the scroll-scrubbing code, but the magic in the video is the watch imagery, which comes from AI image and video tools or a 3D model. Expect an afternoon of asset work and tuning, not one prompt, and check the page on a phone before you show a client.

How to actually do it

  • Make the assets first: generate one image of the product assembled and one exploded (or photograph the real product), then use an image-to-video model (Kling, Veo) to animate between them, and export about 100-150 frames as compressed WebP with ffmpeg.
  • In Claude Code with Opus 5.5, ask for 'a pinned canvas image sequence that maps scroll position to frame index with GSAP ScrollTrigger, preloads frames progressively, and shows a single still image on small screens or with reduced motion', plus your real section copy.
  • Test on a real phone over cellular: page weight, first paint, and scroll smoothness. Cut frames or resolution until it loads fast.
  • Skip the comment funnel unless you want the creator's DMs; public tutorials on this technique cover the same method for free.

Claude Opus 5.5 launched Sep 22, 2026, and the exploded-product scroll site is a real, documented technique. The reel oversells it as a single prompt when the photoreal frames come from separate image, video, or 3D work, and the prompt is gated behind a comment-to-DM hook.
