REAL
Holds up: all nine Claude Code repos exist with roughly the star counts shown; the catches are that repo 01 is the poster's own 32-star project and two of the nine only work with a paid third-party model
The claim'9 GitHub repos for Claude Code you needed downloaded yesterday.' You hit your Claude Code limit mid-build, then it compacts and forgets your work, and 'somebody already fixed both.' Nine repos 'from the last 30 days': usage limits in your Mac notch, compaction without the amnesia, any agent on any model, one skill that ships your app live. On-screen cards with star counts: claude-x-jev (15), codenotch (2,628), base (266), linkedin-agent-skill (940), dots (1,925), golive-skill (1,046), lint (1,572), fast-jev-compaction (7,246), magpie (3,730). 'Comment REPOS for all 9 repo links sent to your DMs.'
This one checks out. All nine repositories exist on GitHub under the owners shown on the cards, and the star counts on screen are at or slightly below today's numbers, which is what you expect from a reel made a few days ago. codenotch (vinzdg) pins Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Antigravity usage limits to a screen edge, now 2,683 stars. fast-jev-compaction (tamaratran) replaces Claude Code's compaction summary with scored, verbatim-kept tool results, now 7,336 stars. magpie (yetone) switches which model each agent runs on from the menu bar, 4,288 stars. dots, golive-skill, shadcn-ui/lint, linkedin-agent-skill and base are all live and recently pushed. Two things the reel does not say. First, the repo it puts in slot 01, claude-x-jev, is the poster's own project, 32 stars today, placed in front of repos with thousands. Second, that repo and fast-jev-compaction both run on Jev, TypeSafe's decision model, which is a paid API at $0.042 per million input tokens with no free tier, so 'compaction without the amnesia' is cheap but not free. 'From the last 30 days' is loose: base was created in June. And the comment-REPOS hook routes you through DMs for links that are all one GitHub search away.
What holds up
- Reel read frame by frame: nine 'FREE REPO' cards with owner, repo name, one-line pitch and star count, then 'Comment REPOS, all 9 repo links sent straight to your DMs'; no transcript, music only.
- GitHub API on Oct 2: vinzdg/codenotch 2,683 stars (created Sep 5); tamaratran/fast-jev-compaction 7,336 (Sep 17); yetone/magpie 4,288 (Sep 23); feder-cr/dots 2,515 (Sep 29); mikehasa/golive-skill 1,188 (Sep 23); shadcn-ui/lint 3,010 (Sep 2); Jakeschincariol/linkedin-agent-skill 1,089 (Sep 7); ChristopherKahler/base 282 (created Jun 2, not within 30 days).
- charlesdove977/claude-x-jev has 32 stars, created Sep 25; the owner handle matches the poster's name, so repo 01 is self-promotion placed ahead of the big ones.
- typesafe.ai lists Jev at $42 per billion input tokens ($0.042 per million), no free tier; both Jev-based repos in the list need that paid key.
- The sell is the comment-for-DM hook (audience building); nothing is purchased, but the links are public.
What doesn’t
- Repo 01 is the poster's own 32-star project, framed the same way as 7,000-star community tools.
- Two of the nine depend on a paid third-party model (Jev); the reel never mentions a cost.
- 'From the last 30 days' is not true for every repo; base dates to June.
- Comment-for-DM funnel for links that are freely searchable on GitHub.
The catch
The list is legitimate and the tools solve real Claude Code annoyances, but it is also a vehicle to get the poster's own repo seen and to fill his DM list. Install what you need directly from GitHub, read each README for what it needs (a Jev key, macOS, Node), and skip the comment step entirely.
How to actually do it
- If usage limits are your pain, install vinzdg/codenotch (macOS) from the GitHub releases page; if compaction amnesia is your pain, read tamaratran/fast-jev-compaction's README and budget a TypeSafe Jev key before you install.
- For model switching across agents, try yetone/magpie; for shipping an agent-built app, read mikehasa/golive-skill, which uses your own hosting, database and payment accounts.
- Star counts are a popularity signal, not a safety review. Read the install script of any plugin that hooks into Claude Code before you run it.
Every repo named in the reel is real and the star counts are accurate as of early October. The honest version of the pitch is 'here are nine recent Claude Code tools, two need a paid Jev key, and the first one is mine'.
