PARTLY Partly true: the 19-tool local-SEO stack is real and current, but 'stop paying for ads and get leads for free' hides roughly $200 to $700 a month of subscriptions, a coding agent that ranks nothing by itself, and a comment-SEO lead magnet that feeds an agency pitch
The claimTwenty-second reel with on-screen tool lists: 'Tools for ranking on Google' (Google Business Profile, your website, Yoast SEO, Claude Code), 'Tools for competitor research' (Claude Code + Playwright, Semrush, SpyFu, GMB Everywhere), 'Tools for keyword research' (Claude Code + DataForSEO, Google Search Console, Gemini Deep Research, People Also Ask), 'Tools for writing content' (Claude, Wispr Flow, ChatGPT Image), 'Tools for tracking your traffic' (Google Search Console, GA4, GoHighLevel). Audio: 'If you want to stop relying on paid ads and start getting leads for free, comment SEO and I'll send you my free local SEO checklist.' Caption: building your website, GBP, reviews and backlinks is 'the most powerful and profitable thing you can do' in 2026; 'SEO takes time.'
Every tool on the screen exists and is in current use as of Sep 2026, and the lists are grouped sensibly. Microsoft's Playwright MCP installs into Claude Code with one command and does let the agent browse competitor sites. DataForSEO ships an official MCP server that lists Claude Code as a client, free to install, pay-as-you-go for data (about 2.4 cents per 100 keywords, $50 minimum top-up). Semrush, SpyFu, GMB Everywhere, Wispr Flow, Yoast and GoHighLevel are all live products with live price pages. So the list is honest. The framing is not. First, the audio sells 'leads for free' while the stack on screen costs money: Semrush now starts at $139/mo, SpyFu around $39/mo, GMB Everywhere's paid tier $15 to $30/mo, Claude Code needs at least a $20/mo Claude Pro plan, Wispr Flow Pro $15/mo, ChatGPT Plus $20/mo, Gemini's unlimited Deep Research $20/mo, GoHighLevel $97/mo. Bought as shown that is roughly $400/mo; with Semrush Pro+ and Claude Max it clears $700. Second, 'Claude Code' is filed under 'tools for ranking on Google.' It is a coding agent; with MCPs attached it becomes an operator that runs other tools, but it ranks nothing on its own. Third, GoHighLevel is a CRM and funnel builder whose attribution only sees traffic that lands on its own forms and pages; it is not a traffic tracker in the GA4 sense. Fourth, 'comment SEO' is a lead-capture hook: the free checklist is the top of a funnel for the poster's own SEO services. That is the real product in the reel.
What holds up
- Claude Code + Playwright: Microsoft's @playwright/mcp is the official Playwright MCP server, documented at playwright.dev and installable in Claude Code with 'claude mcp add playwright npx @playwright/mcp@latest'; it navigates, clicks, fills and extracts via the accessibility tree. Real and current.
- Claude Code + DataForSEO: dataforseo.com/seo-mcp-server is DataForSEO's own MCP server, lists Claude Code among supported clients, is free and open source, and bills only pay-as-you-go data (about $0.024 per 100 related keywords, live SERP from $0.002 per query, $50 minimum top-up after a $1 trial credit).
- Prices pulled live Sep 18, 2026: Semrush's own price page now lists SEO $139/mo, Starter (SEO + AI Search) $199, Pro+ $299, Advanced $549; the old Pro/Guru/Business names are gone. GoHighLevel's price page lists Starter $97, Unlimited $297, Agency Pro $497. Yoast SEO Premium is $118.80/yr per site (free version exists). Claude Code is bundled into Claude Pro $20, Max $100 or $200; no free tier for the CLI.
- SpyFu (roughly $39/mo Basic monthly, $29 annual; Pro tier $89 to $119) and GMB Everywhere (free tier plus a paid plan quoted at $15 to $30/mo) verified only through third-party pricing trackers; SpyFu's own price page timed out and GMB Everywhere's returned 404, so exact tier prices are lower confidence. Wispr Flow: free at 2,000 words/week, Pro $15/mo ($12 annual). Gemini Deep Research: free tier 5 reports/month, AI Pro $20/mo. ChatGPT image generation: Plus $20/mo.
- GoHighLevel's own help docs: attribution data 'must come from a HighLevel Form, Survey, Calendar, Chat Widget and Order Form'; non-HighLevel events do not capture UTM data. It is a CRM/funnel platform with first-touch attribution, not a site-wide traffic tracker.
What doesn’t
- 'Stop relying on paid ads and start getting leads for free' is spoken over a screen of paid subscriptions; the honest version of this stack is $200 to $700 a month plus hours of work, and the caption's own 'SEO takes time' is the quiet correction.
- 'Claude Code' listed as a tool for ranking on Google. It is a terminal coding agent. Paired with Playwright and DataForSEO MCPs it is a capable SEO operator, but calling it a ranking tool is the same category error as calling Excel a bookkeeper.
- GoHighLevel under 'tracking your traffic' is an agency tell: it is the poster's client-management platform, and its attribution only sees visitors who hit GHL-built pages and forms. GSC and GA4 already do the job for free.
- Comment-for-checklist hook: the reel is lead generation for an SEO consultant. The checklist is real value, but it exists to open a DM and qualify you for a retainer.
The catch
This is one of the more honest tool reels in the audit, and it still sells a fantasy in the audio track. The tools are real, the groupings are fair, and the DataForSEO and Playwright MCP pairings with Claude Code are legitimately how working SEOs run research in 2026. But 'free leads' means free of ad spend, not free of cost: the stack as shown is several hundred dollars a month, most of it agency-grade software a single-location business does not need, and it takes three to six months of consistent work before Google moves. Take the list, skip the 'free,' and know that commenting SEO puts you in a sales funnel.
How to actually do it
- Start with the free layer, which is most of the value: claim and fully fill out your Google Business Profile, verify your site in Google Search Console, install GA4, run free Yoast (or Rank Math) on WordPress, and use Google's own 'People also ask' boxes for question research. Cost: $0.
- Add one paid research layer, not four. Claude Pro ($20/mo) plus the DataForSEO MCP ($50 credit lasts a small business months at 2.4 cents per 100 keywords) covers keyword and SERP research; add Playwright MCP (free) so Claude can read competitor pages. Skip Semrush and SpyFu until you are managing more than one site.
- Use GMB Everywhere's free tier to read competitors' GBP categories on Maps, then match or improve yours; only pay for it if you run audits for others. Ignore GoHighLevel unless you already run your CRM there; GSC and GA4 are your traffic trackers.
- If you want the poster's checklist, comment and take it, but know the DM that follows is a consult pitch. Set a 90-day content and review cadence before buying any retainer, because that is what most local-SEO retainers deliver anyway.
The tool list is accurate and every item was web-verified as live in Sep 2026, including the two Claude Code MCP pairings. The reel earns 'partly' rather than 'real' because the audio promises free leads over a stack that costs hundreds a month, files a coding agent under ranking tools, and exists to feed a comment-for-checklist agency funnel. A small business can get most of the benefit from the free layer plus about $25 a month.
