REAL

Holds up: Google Analytics can now link to your Google Business Profile and adds a Business Profile report, shipped June 2026; the 'hidden data' line is the only stretch, plus a comment-SEO agency hook

Facebook · Oct 2026

The claim'Google finally lets you link your Google Business Profile to Google Analytics so you can see the real Maps data that's normally hidden.' Steps: open Google Analytics, Admin, Product links, Google Business Profile links, Link, choose listings, pick your profile, submit. 'Now check Reports. You'll see a brand new Business Profile tab with real search performance, how people find you on Maps, and behavior data that used to be buried.' Comment 'SEO' for help.

This one is real and the clicks shown are the actual clicks. Google's Analytics release notes for June 8, 2026 announce a 'new Google Business Profile integration': you link GA properties to Business Profiles from the Admin panel under Product links, and GA adds a dedicated Business Profile reporting collection with seven core metrics (interactions, calls, bookings, directions, website clicks, messages, menus). The reel's screen recording matches that path exactly: Admin, Product links, 'Google Business Profile links', a listing picker, then a new 'Business Profile' section under Reports with an Overview showing calls, website clicks and directions over time. The only oversell is 'data that's normally hidden' and 'used to be buried.' Those same numbers have been visible for years in the Business Profile Performance panel on Google Search and Maps; what is new is seeing them next to your website traffic in one tool, with GA's date ranges and comparisons. That is useful for a small business that already lives in GA, and it is free. It does not expose anything Google was hiding. The poster is a local-SEO agency and the close is 'comment SEO if you want our help,' which is a lead hook for managed services. You do not need an agency for this; it is six clicks and you need manager access to the profile.

What holds up

  • Reel read frame by frame: GA Admin, Property settings, Product links list including 'Google Business Profile links'; a consent dialog about sharing data between Analytics and Business Profile; a listing picker; then Reports showing a new 'Business Profile' collection with Overview charts for calls, website clicks (19) and directions (41).
  • Google Analytics release notes (support.google.com/analytics/answer/9164320, read Oct 2, 2026), entry dated June 8, 2026: 'You can now centrally report on your local business, website, and app metrics. Link your Google Analytics properties with Google Business Profiles (GBP) directly within the Admin panel,' with seven core metrics in a new reporting collection added on linking.
  • Google Business Profile Help (support.google.com/business/answer/7689763) already lists views, calls, directions, website clicks, messages and bookings in the Performance report, so the data was never hidden; the link puts it inside GA.
  • Poster's close is 'Comment SEO if you want our help,' a managed-services lead hook; the walkthrough itself is complete and free.

What doesn’t

  • 'Normally hidden' and 'used to be buried' oversell data that has long been in the Business Profile Performance panel.
  • You need manager access to both the GA property and the Business Profile; agencies that own your profile can link it to their GA, so check who owns what.
  • Comment-for-help hook to a local-SEO agency for a six-click task.

The catch

Do it; it is free, real, and it puts your Maps calls, directions and website clicks next to your site data where you can compare them month to month. Just know the numbers were already in your Business Profile dashboard, and make sure the Business Profile and the GA property are both in an account you control before you link.

How to actually do it

  • In GA, open Admin, scroll Property settings to Product links, choose Google Business Profile links, click Link, pick your listings and submit (you must be a manager on the profile).
  • Wait a day, then open Reports and find the new Business Profile collection; set a 90-day range and compare calls, directions and website clicks against your organic sessions.
  • If a vendor set up your profile or your GA, confirm you are the primary owner of both before linking so the data stays with you if you part ways.

The feature shipped in June 2026 and the reel's clicks are accurate. The 'hidden data' framing is marketing; the metrics were already in the Business Profile dashboard. The useful part is seeing them inside GA, which any owner can set up without the agency the comment hook is selling.
