PARTLY “Gave Grok Bot $1,000, 15 hours later it’s holding $3,900 — every trade on a public address” — a real memecoin wallet did ~3x, then was emptied two days before this post
The claim“I gave Elon’s Grok Bot $1,000 and one rule. Grow it or I delete you. 15 hours later it is holding $3,900. Every trade landed on a public address. No private account and no screenshots.” The bot “reads the news and the filings before the rest of the market… writes the exit before it takes the entry… reads its own losing trades at night and rewrites the rules by morning. Gold, oil, a stock you inherited or a coin that launched an hour ago, the rules are the same. Setup took one evening… Mine costs $300 a month. The whole build is going up soon.” 110K views.
We did what the post dares you to do and pulled the wallet. The address isn’t in this post, but the poster published it two days earlier, and the Solana chain shows a real run: funded with 10.29 SOL (about $1,017) on Aug 25 at 21:57 UTC, then 1,487 transactions in roughly 22 hours — one every 53 seconds, 98 of them failed — across at least eight pump.fun memecoin mints. On Aug 26 at 19:45 UTC the wallet was swept out: 34.18 SOL (about $3,300) moved to another address, leaving a zero balance. So a ~3.3x memecoin-sniping day happened. Everything around it is framing. “It is holding $3,900” was false when posted on Aug 28 — the funds had been gone for two days, and $3,300 isn’t $3,900. “Gold, oil, a stock you inherited” never happened — the chain shows only memecoins, and no single product can trade CME futures, a brokerage account and an hour-old Solana token through one bot. The chain also can’t tell you who drove the trades: Grok Bot, a human, or an off-the-shelf sniper. Grok Bot is real (xAI beta, Aug 11, 2026, bundled with the $300/mo SuperGrok Heavy plan) but has no native trading and requires human approval for financial actions. The reply that asks whether this is “engagement spam to farm the coin” is the key: the poster launched a $CVXV666 token on pump.fun on Aug 23 — “an AI desk that trades memecoins 24/7, 40% of trading revenue to holders” — whose own site says “Paper mode. Live size = 0.” Base rates matter too: in the Alpha Arena live-trading benchmark, Grok 4 lost 45% and four of six frontier models lost money; Bloomberg found only 6 of 32 AI stock-contest runs were profitable.
What holds up
- A real wallet the poster published went 10.29 SOL → 34.18 SOL (about $1,017 → $3,300) in ~22 hours on Aug 25–26 — the on-chain part is verifiable
- Grok Bot exists (xAI beta Aug 11, 2026: always-on agents with a cloud browser/terminal), and $300/mo is exactly SuperGrok Heavy, the plan that includes it
- People are legitimately wiring Grok Bot to exchanges via trade-only API keys with manual approval on every order — with liquidation warnings attached
What doesn’t
- “15 hours later it IS holding $3,900” — the wallet was emptied Aug 26, two days before the post; the sweep was ~$3,300, and the balance now is zero
- “Gold, oil, a stock you inherited” — the chain shows nothing but pump.fun memecoins; no one bot spans futures, a brokerage and a Solana wallet, and 290% in 15 hours on stocks is impossible outside heavy leverage
- The “public address” is omitted from the post while the poster’s own $CVXV666 token (launched Aug 23, ‘40% of revenue to holders’) is the product — and its site says “Paper mode. Live size = 0.” A prior version of the story used six agents, $200/mo and a day that ended down $8K
The catch
One good day sniping memecoins, posted after the money was pulled out, to sell a coin whose own website admits it isn’t trading live.
How to actually do it
- Want to experiment? Paper-trade first — Alpaca’s paper API is free and simulates real fills; backtest with fees and slippage before any live dollar
- Never send funds to, or join, a stranger’s Telegram bot; if you must test an agent, use a trade-only API key on a throwaway account with a hard cap and treat any loss as tuition
- Read the CFTC’s “AI won’t turn trading bots into money machines” advisory before you believe a 15-hour screenshot — 3x days and −90% days are the same variance
The wallet is real and did ~3x on memecoins; the “holding $3,900,” the “gold, oil, stocks,” and the missing address are the tell — the product is the poster’s own token.
