PARTLY
Partly true: the Business Profile searches list and the Gemini connection are real, but 'feeding Google the exact words' in posts is not a ranking lever, and the demo's top terms are the agency's own name
The claim'This secret button exposes what people search about you.' 'Never, ever, ever post on your Google Business Profile again without doing this first.' Go to your Business Profile, click Performance, scroll to Searches, click See more, 'you'll see the exact words people typed in to find you.' Copy the top few, go to Gemini, connect your Google Business Profile, ask it to create posts using those exact search terms. 'Now you're feeding Google the exact words customers used to find you, and you can post it straight from Gemini.' Comment 'RANK' to see what it is like working with the agency.
Every button in this reel exists. The Business Profile Performance report has a 'Searches' breakdown that lists the search terms people used to find your listing (Google's help page: it updates monthly and can lag up to five days). The Gemini web app has a 'Google Business Profile' connected app whose description is 'Manage your Business Profile on Google and create a Business Notebook with proactive insights,' limited to personal Google accounts, age 18 plus, web app only, and not available in the EEA or UK. The reel's screen shows Gemini drafting two posts and asking 'Would you like me to publish these posts to your profile,' which fits 'manage,' though Google's connected-apps table does not spell out publishing. What does not hold is the theory. Google's own local ranking page lists relevance, distance and prominence and never mentions posts; Google Business Profile posts are not a known ranking factor, and 'feeding Google the exact words' describes keyword stuffing, which the help page on relevance does not reward. Look at the demo itself: the top terms are 'go big systems' and 'gobig systems,' the agency's own name. Writing posts targeting your own brand name does nothing; people searching your name already found you. The draft Gemini produced is generic agency copy. The reel is a 'secret button' hook for a comment-RANK agency pitch. The useful part is the Searches list, which is a free look at how customers describe you.
What holds up
- Reel read frame by frame: Business Profile panel on Google Search with Performance; 'Searches breakdown' listing 'go big systems', 'gobig systems', 'broken arrow seo agency', 'broken arrow website design', 'business'; Gemini web app with a 'Your business, organized with Gemini. Connect your Business Profile to analyze reviews, interpret trends, and update your storefront' card; two post drafts; a 'Confirmation: Would you like me to publish these posts to your profile' prompt.
- Google Business Profile Help (support.google.com/business/answer/7689763, read Oct 2, 2026): Performance includes 'the search terms people used to find your business,' updated monthly, may take up to five days to appear.
- Gemini connected apps table (support.google.com/gemini/table/17434654, read Oct 2, 2026): 'Google Business Profile: Manage your Business Profile on Google and create a Business Notebook with proactive insights'; personal Google Account only, 18 or over, Gemini web app only, not in the EEA or UK. Publishing posts is shown on screen but not spelled out in Google's table; graded Medium for that reason.
- Google local ranking help (support.google.com/business/answer/7091): ranking is relevance, distance and prominence; posts and keywords are not listed; 'There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google.'
- Poster's close: 'Comment RANK if you want to see what it's like working with us,' an agency lead hook.
What doesn’t
- Posts are not a Google local ranking factor; 'feeding Google the exact words' is keyword stuffing with a Gemini wrapper.
- The demo's top search terms are the agency's own brand name, which is the one thing you never need to target.
- The Gemini connection needs a personal Google account on the web app and is not available in the EEA or UK; a Workspace-only business may not see it.
- 'Secret button' framing for a standard Performance report, leading to a comment-RANK agency pitch.
The catch
The Searches list is worth a look because it shows the words customers actually use, but the way to use it is on your website pages and in your profile categories and services, not in keyword-stuffed posts. If you let Gemini write and publish posts, read every one before it goes live; the draft on screen was generic filler with the agency's keywords jammed in.
How to actually do it
- Open your Business Profile on Google Search, click Performance, scroll to Searches and export the top terms; drop your own brand-name queries and keep the service-plus-city ones.
- Put those service terms into the pages that matter: your services list in the profile, your website's service pages and titles, and your photo captions.
- If you want Gemini to draft posts, connect the profile from the Gemini web app on a personal Google account, give it one real update per post (an offer, a job you finished, hours), and edit before you confirm publish.
The buttons are real and the Gemini connection exists with account and region limits. The promise behind them, that posts stuffed with your top search terms move your ranking, has no support in Google's own ranking guidance, and the reel's example terms are the agency's own name. The sell is a comment-RANK agency intake.
