Every repo named is real, free and actively maintained, and the descriptions are fair. GitHub's API on Oct 30, 2026 shows obra/superpowers at about 309,000 stars (MIT), a skills and workflow framework for Claude Code. anthropics/skills, Anthropic's official repo, has about 185,000 stars and 19 skills including skill-creator, docx, pdf, pptx and xlsx. ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills has about 78,000 stars and describes itself as a curated list of 1,000-plus skills and plugins. PleasePrompto/notebooklm-skill (about 7,800 stars, MIT) lets Claude Code query your own NotebookLM notebooks. coreyhaines31/marketingskills (about 57,500 stars, MIT) holds 53 marketing skills covering SEO, copywriting, CRO and analytics. Two small corrections. The 'thousands of skills' comes almost entirely from Composio's list; the other four together hold under 100, and Composio's README also steers you toward its own MCP Gateway and API key, which is its business. And the 'official' repo shown on screen is a personal fork (zack-anthropic/skills, 11 stars, behind the original), so install from anthropics/skills instead. '10x your productivity' is the usual flourish. The only ask is 'comment Skills' for a DM, which is unnecessary: every repo is public on GitHub.

  • Start with github.com/anthropics/skills and run skill-creator to build one skill for a task you repeat weekly.
  • If you use Claude Code, add obra/superpowers from its own README; add coreyhaines31/marketingskills if you do marketing work.
  • Read a skill's SKILL.md before installing anything from a large community list, since third-party skills can run scripts.
  • Measure one task before and after; keep only the skills that actually save time.
