PARTLY
Partly true: Experian's 475 Anton Blvd address is real corporate HQ, not a 'secret' dispute channel, and the poster's own caption gives the official P.O. Box
The claim'Experian has a secret address. Everybody knows about the P.O. Box, but the address that's on their SEC filings, which is the real company that Experian is, is Experian Information Solutions, 475 Anton Boulevard in California. That's the real address people should be using.' On-screen: 'Man EXPOSES why your dispute letters dont work.' Caption: dispute letters fail because you send them to the wrong department; 'Comment CREDIT if you want help getting more approvals with a personalized game plan.'
The address is real and not secret. Experian Information Solutions, Inc. lists 475 Anton Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 as its business address in SEC EDGAR, and it is the North American headquarters you can find in thirty seconds. What is not real is the idea that mailing a dispute there instead of the published dispute center gets you a better result. Experian's own dispute page lists exactly one mailing address, P.O. Box 4500, Allen, TX 75013, plus the online dispute center and a phone line. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 USC 1681i) requires a reasonable reinvestigation within 30 days once the agency is notified; it does not reward you for sending the letter to a corporate lobby, and mail to HQ gets routed to the same dispute operation. The reel is a repost of another creator's clip, and the poster's own caption undercuts it: the caption gives the Allen, TX P.O. Box as the 'Experian Dispute Mailing Address' and pushes the sensible basics (read the full report, dispute specific items, attach documentation, certified mail). The 'SEC filings' line is thin too: EDGAR shows only two 2005 and 2006 beneficial-ownership filings for that entity, and Experian plc is listed in London, not a US registrant. The real product here is the 'Comment CREDIT' funnel for a paid credit game plan.
What holds up
- Reel read frame by frame: a reposted clip captioned 'Man exposes Experian' with the overlay 'Man EXPOSES why your dispute letters dont work' and 'Read the caption carefully'; the poster's caption lists the official Allen, TX P.O. Box 4500 and the experian.com/disputes link.
- SEC EDGAR company lookup (Oct 2, 2026) shows Experian Information Solutions, Inc. with business address 475 Anton Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626, but only SC 13G filings from 2005 and 2006; Experian plc itself is London-listed, not a US registrant.
- experian.com/disputes/main.html (fetched Oct 2, 2026) lists one mailing address for disputes, Experian, Dispute by Mail, P.O. Box 4500, Allen, TX 75013, plus online and phone options; no Costa Mesa address appears.
- 15 USC 1681i(a)(1) (Cornell LII) requires a reasonable reinvestigation within 30 days of notice to the agency; it names no address or department and gives no advantage to letters sent to corporate headquarters.
- CFPB's dispute guidance points consumers to the bureau's published dispute channel, recommends certified mail with return receipt, and lists what to include; none of it mentions HQ addresses.
What doesn’t
- 'Secret address' is a public corporate headquarters; the dispute center is the published channel and HQ mail gets forwarded there.
- The poster's own caption gives the official P.O. Box, contradicting the clip it is reposting.
- 'Comment CREDIT' routes to a paid credit-repair style game plan; the free route is annualcreditreport.com plus the bureau's online dispute center.
- 'On their SEC filings' overstates it: two beneficial-ownership filings from 2005 and 2006, not a regulatory address for disputes.
The catch
Where you mail the letter is not why disputes fail. They fail when the item is accurate, when the dispute is vague, or when there is no documentation. Sending to Costa Mesa mostly adds routing time, and if you want a legal lever, the FCRA 30-day clock starts on receipt either way, so certified mail to the published dispute address is the stronger paper trail.
How to actually do it
- Pull all three reports free at annualcreditreport.com and mark the exact items, accounts and dates you are disputing.
- File through Experian's online dispute center or mail to P.O. Box 4500, Allen, TX 75013 by certified mail with return receipt, with copies (never originals) of supporting documents.
- Dispute with the furnisher (the lender or collector) at the same time; they also owe you a 30-day investigation.
- If the item stays and you can show it is inaccurate, file a CFPB complaint and keep the certified-mail receipts; that record is what matters, not the street address.
The Costa Mesa address exists and belongs to Experian's US headquarters, so the clip is not invented. The 'secret address that fixes your disputes' story is, and the poster's caption quietly uses the real P.O. Box while selling a comment-for-help funnel.
