PARTLY “Claude x video editing = $12k/month… the free Claude plugin” — the plugin is real and Claude-powered; the AI editing isn’t free and the $12k is a caption Facebook · Aug 2026

The claim“POV: Claude x video editing = $12k/month. 1. I use the free Claude plugin to edit shortform content. 2. It adds captions and edits viral shortform + it’s free.” Caption: “this Claude AI video editing method is INSANE — Comment CLAUDE for the FREE link to the plugin. This is AutoEdit Content Creator Mode, the best AI Premiere Pro plugin that uses Claude AI to automatically edit your videos, cut bad takes, remove silences, and build rough cuts in seconds.” A YouTube Studio screen shows 140.8K views.

Third time this plugin has crossed the audit (#061 in August, #214 four days ago) and the read is stable: the product is real and genuinely Claude-powered, and the ad keeps lying about the same two things. AutoEdit Creator Mode is a shipping Premiere Pro plugin that transcribes your footage, sends the transcript to Claude, and builds a rough cut on the timeline. Now the “free.” The vendor’s pricing page does have a $0-forever tier — it includes four utilities (paste image, silence cutter, sound effects, motion graphics) and, in the page’s own words, no AI editing access. The Claude editing the reel is showing sits on Lite at $9.99/mo (4 videos, 45 minutes of AI editing), Creator at $29.99/mo (15 videos, 2 hours) or Pro at $79.99/mo (40 videos, 5 hours), or as one-time packs at $19.99 for 6 videos and $149 for three months. The “$12k/month” has no owner: no client, no invoice, no channel named — just a screenshot of a 140.8K-view video, which at typical Shorts rates pays out well under a few hundred dollars. And “it adds captions and edits viral shortform” overreaches: the tool’s own product page says it makes a rough cut by removing weak takes and dead space; captions and silence-cutting are things Premiere already does. A useful tool with an honest $10 on-ramp, sold with a fake “free” and an invented income.

What holds up

  • The plugin is real, actively sold, and does call Claude to assemble a rough cut from your transcript — one of the few “Claude-powered” claims on this audit that is literally true
  • There is a genuine $0-forever tier on the vendor’s pricing page — it just excludes the AI editing the reel is showing
  • The entry price is honest and low: $9.99/mo for 4 videos, or a $19.99 one-time pack for 6 videos, with a free trial

What doesn’t

  • “The free Claude plugin” — the free tier has “no AI editing access”; the Claude rough-cut feature is $9.99–$79.99/mo with monthly video caps (4/15/40) and minute caps (45 min/2 h/5 h)
  • “$12k/month” appears nowhere but the caption — no client, no channel, no receipt; the 140.8K-view screenshot would pay a fraction of that at Shorts rates
  • “Adds captions and edits viral shortform” overstates a rough-cut tool — the vendor’s page describes removing weak takes and dead space, not a finished edit; silence and filler cutting are stock Premiere features

The catch

Real plugin, real Claude, real $10 entry — and the same fake “free” and made-up income every time it’s advertised. The comment-“CLAUDE” gate is lead capture, not a link.

How to actually do it

  • If you edit talking-head or short-form video, try the $19.99 one-time pack (6 videos) before any monthly plan — the rough-cut feature is the only thing worth paying for
  • Before you pay, use Premiere’s built-in Text-Based Editing to delete silences and filler — it’s already in your Adobe subscription
  • Price editing work off real retainers ($750–$5K/mo for most editors), not a reel’s POV caption; nobody earns $12k/month from a plugin — they earn it from clients

Real Claude-powered Premiere plugin with a $0 tier that excludes the AI editing shown; the “free” and the “$12k/month” are the ad, not the product. See #061 and #214.
