Every named tool is real and mostly free. Emil Kowalski's skills repo (github.com/emilkowalski/skills, ~34.9K stars, MIT; install npx skills@latest add emilkowalski/skills) ships animate/motion/apple-design skills; "impeccable" is Paul Bakaus's open-source design skill (github, ~65K stars, Apache-2.0, npx impeccable install). Both are third-party, not Anthropic. Figma's Dev Mode MCP (remote server free in beta, supports Claude Code) and Microsoft's Playwright MCP (Apache-2.0, free, ~36.8K stars, supports Claude Code) exist. Claude Code does generate full front-ends, and Anthropic launched Claude Design Apr 17 2026, included with Pro ($20/mo)/Max (from $100)/Team/Enterprise. The overclaim is the demo: the ORYZO site is a self-initiated satirical concept by Lusion, a Bristol WebGL studio - oryzo.ai's own footer reads that it is "a fictional creative project by Lusion," it won Awwwards Site of the Day (Apr 13 2026, score 7.86) and was built with GSAP, Three.js and WebGL by professionals. And designers aren't dead: BLS projects web developers/digital designers to grow 5% 2025-2035 (faster than average, 220,100 jobs, median ~$92,650), noting AI "may soften" growth, not end it.

What holds up

  • The skills, Figma MCP and Playwright MCP are all real, public, and free or free-in-beta, and work with Claude Code as shown
  • Claude Code genuinely builds working multi-page front-ends, and Claude Design (launched Apr 17 2026) is bundled with paid plans at no extra charge
  • "emil-kowalski" maps to Emil Kowalski's actual repo and "impeccable" to Paul Bakaus's - the reel didn't invent them

What doesn't

  • 'Never' is unsupportable — current Claude produces coherent, sometimes distinctive visual design today; the gap is context, not capability
  • The slick site used to 'prove' human superiority is exactly what AI produces unassisted — and viewers can't verify it wasn't AI-assisted
  • Soft self-interest: it's authority content from a designer whose livelihood the claim defends
  • The build-vs-design binary is already stale — the real 2026 split is AI defaults vs human-directed AI output, and the winners use both

The catch

The workflow is genuine, but the jaw-dropping site in the video is a human studio's award-winning, deliberately satirical showpiece - not something Claude produced from one sentence. Real Claude Code output is a strong starting draft, not an Awwwards winner in minutes.

How to actually do it

  • Try the real tools yourself: Claude Pro is $20/mo, and the emilkowalski/skills and impeccable skills plus Playwright MCP are free to install
  • Expect a solid first draft you then refine, not a finished award-tier animated site straight out of the prompt
  • For a client-quality bespoke site, still budget a designer or front-end dev to art-direct and polish what Claude scaffolds

Use the free tools with realistic expectations and keep human design judgment in the loop for anything client-facing.
