REAL
Holds up: Claude, Cursor, Vercel, Supabase, CodeRabbit, Stripe and Grok Bot are all real and fit together, but 'that's all you need' hides about $110 a month of subscriptions and the only hard part, customers
The claim'Hear me out. Claude for coding, Cursor for building, Vercel for hosting, Supabase for backend, CodeRabbit for code review, Stripe for monetization, and Grokbot for marketing. That's all you need to go start building.' Caption: 'Claude+Cursor+Vercel+Supabase+Coderabbit+Stripe+Grokbot = a pretty decent starting pipeline.'
Every tool named is real and each does the job assigned to it, which already puts this reel ahead of most of the feed. The caption's phrasing, 'a pretty decent starting pipeline,' is fair. What the 12-second version skips is the bill and the overlap. Prices as of Oct 2, 2026, from the vendors' own pages: Claude Pro is $20 a month; Cursor Pro is $20 a month and now bundles Grok Bot; Vercel's free Hobby tier is personal, non-commercial use only, so a paid product means Pro at $20 per seat; Supabase has a free tier that pauses projects after a week of inactivity and caps you at two active projects, with Pro at $25; CodeRabbit is free forever for public repos but $24 per developer per month for private code; Stripe has no monthly fee but takes 2.9 percent plus 30 cents per card transaction; Grok Bot (SpaceXAI, launched Aug 11, 2026, in beta) rides on Cursor Pro or SuperGrok at $30. Call it roughly $110 a month before a single customer. 'Claude for coding, Cursor for building' is also one tool twice: Cursor is an editor that calls Claude's models, so you are paying for the same intelligence through two subscriptions unless you deliberately split Claude Code from Cursor. And 'Grok Bot for marketing' is the thinnest link; it is an agent that can run outreach and campaign chores with your approval, not a marketing strategy. Nothing is sold; it is an audience-building post for an AI-coding page.
What holds up
- Reel read frame by frame: each tool's logo appears in sequence (Claude, Cursor, Vercel, Supabase, CodeRabbit, Stripe, Grok Bot) over captions 'Claude for coding', 'Cursor for building', 'Vercel for hosting', 'Supabase for backend', 'CodeRabbit for code review', 'Stripe for monetization', 'and Grok Bot for marketing', 'that's all you need', 'so go start building'.
- claude.com/pricing (Oct 2, 2026): Free, Pro $20 a month ($17 annual), Max from $100; Claude Code included on paid plans. cursor.com/pricing: Hobby free, Pro/Pro+/Ultra from $20 a month, Teams $40 a user, Grok Bot included on paid tiers.
- vercel.com/pricing: Hobby is free but 'personal, non-commercial use only'; Pro is $20 per developer seat with $20 usage credit. supabase.com/pricing: Free tier pauses projects after one week of inactivity, two active projects max; Pro $25 a month.
- coderabbit.ai/pricing: free reviews forever for public repositories; paid plans from $24 per developer per month (annual) for private repos. stripe.com/pricing: 2.9 percent plus 30 cents per domestic card transaction, no monthly fee.
- x.ai/news/introducing-grok-bot (Aug 11, 2026) and x.ai/bot: Grok Bot is a beta agent with its own cloud computer, included with Cursor Pro/Pro+/Ultra, SuperGrok ($30) and Cursor Teams; it drafts outbound and campaign work and 'only come[s] back when something needs your approval'.
What doesn’t
- No prices anywhere; the stack is about $110 a month once you are commercial, and Vercel's free tier is not allowed for a paid product.
- 'Claude for coding' and 'Cursor for building' overlap; Cursor calls Claude's models, so you may pay for the same thing twice.
- 'Grok Bot for marketing' is a beta agent for marketing chores, not a plan for finding customers.
- Nothing sold; it is the page's content lane for an AI-coding audience.
The catch
The stack is sane and most working indie builders use some version of it. Start on the free tiers while it is a hobby, and the day you take a payment, upgrade Vercel and Supabase so the project does not pause or violate terms. The tooling is the easy part; the week you spend on the stack is a week you did not spend talking to the ten people who might pay for it.
How to actually do it
- Start free: Claude Free or Pro, Cursor Hobby, Vercel Hobby, Supabase Free, CodeRabbit on a public repo, Stripe test mode; total $0 to $20 while you validate the idea.
- Pick one coding surface (Claude Code or Cursor) so you are not paying for the same model twice; add the other only when you know why.
- Before the first real charge, move Vercel to Pro and Supabase to Pro and set a spending alert on both.
- Give Grok Bot a specific, approvable job (a weekly outreach list, a changelog post) and measure replies, not activity.
All seven tools are real, current and reasonably matched, so the stack claim stands. The parts the reel skips are the roughly $110 a month it costs once you charge money, the overlap between Claude and Cursor, and the fact that no stack supplies customers.
