PARTLY “You got tired so you let Claude AI edit your content in under 2 mins” — fourth sighting of the one genuinely Claude-powered plugin, still pretending its paid tier is free
The claim“POV: you got tired so you let claude AI edit your content in under 2mins” — “Comment ‘claude’ and I’ll dm you AutoEdit Content Creator Mode plugin for free.”
Fourth time this plugin has crossed the audit (#061, #214, #227) and the read hasn’t moved: AutoEdit Creator Mode is real and genuinely Claude-powered — a third-party Premiere plugin that transcribes your footage, sends the transcript to Claude, and assembles a rough cut. There is no official Anthropic Premiere plugin; this is a vendor calling Claude’s API, which is fine and worth saying precisely. The lie is the same one as always: ‘free.’ The vendor’s pricing page says the $0 tier has ‘no access to Creator Mode AI editing’ — free gets four utilities (paste image, silence cutter, sound effects, motion graphics); the Claude editing shown starts at $9.99/mo with video and minute caps. And ‘under 2 mins’ oversells a tool whose own vendor describes rough cuts and first drafts you then refine. Real product, honest $10 on-ramp, dishonest hook — every single time it’s advertised.
What holds up
- The plugin exists and really uses Claude to assemble rough cuts — one of the few literally-true ‘Claude-powered’ claims we’ve audited
- There’s a genuine $0-forever tier with four non-AI utilities
- The paid entry is honest and low: $9.99/mo or a one-time credit pack
What doesn’t
- ‘Free’ is false for the feature shown — the vendor’s own pricing page excludes AI editing from the $0 tier
- ‘Under 2 mins’ oversells rough cuts the vendor says you refine manually
- No official Claude/Anthropic Premiere plugin exists — this is a third-party API integration, and the DM ‘free link’ is lead capture
The catch
The one AutoEdit claim that survives contact with the vendor’s own website is ‘it uses Claude.’ The ‘free’ has now been false in four straight ads.
How to actually do it
- If rough-cutting talking-head footage is your bottleneck, the $9.99–$29.99/mo tier is the honest cost of what the reel shows
- Try Premiere’s built-in Text-Based Editing first — silence and filler removal are already in your Adobe subscription
- Read a plugin vendor’s pricing page before commenting for any ‘free’ link
Genuinely Claude-powered rough-cut plugin; the ‘free’ and the 2-minute finish are the ad. Fourth sighting — see #061, #214, #227.
