PARTLY “22 Skills to install in Claude — the GitHub repos nobody talks about” — 270,000 stars later TikTok · Aug 17, 2026

The claim22 skills, plug-ins and tools “I run every day” — “the GitHub repos nobody talks about” — grouped by job, with star counts: superpowers 260k, skill-creator 164k, gstack 124k, ui-ux-pro-max 110k, graphify 95k, caveman 93k, ponytail 89k, taste-skill 67k, remotion 54k, last30days 53k, impeccable 49k, humanizer 31k and more. Comment CLAUDE for the free install guide.

We went in expecting star-count inflation and found the opposite: the counts are accurate, even slightly understated. Verified Aug 17 via the GitHub API: superpowers 273,056 (claimed 260k), gstack 128k, ponytail 104.5k, ui-ux-pro-max 117.5k, anthropics/skills 169.9k (home of skill-creator), graphify 107k, taste-skill 77k, last30days 58k, humanizer 36k, agent-browser 40.8k, impeccable 59.8k, remotion 56.6k. These are real, widely used skills. The framing is the fiction. “Repos nobody talks about” is false on its face — repos with 100–270k stars are the most-talked-about projects in the Claude ecosystem. “I run all 22 every day” is implausible and bad practice: 22 installed skills bloat every session's context and compete to trigger, and nobody needs caveman AND ponytail AND an ADHD skill — three restatements of “be brief.” Two or three counts couldn't be verified at the claimed scale (claude-hub, hyperframes, find-skills). And the payoff is a comment-gated lead magnet from a course seller: the list is the bait, the DM funnel is the product.

What holds up

  • 12 of ~15 spot-checked repos matched or exceeded claimed stars: superpowers 273,056, gstack 128k, ponytail 104.5k, ui-ux-pro-max 117.5k, graphify 107k, taste-skill 77k, impeccable 59.8k (GitHub API, Aug 17)
  • skill-creator genuinely lives in the official anthropics/skills repo (169.9k stars)
  • The grouping (build / design / research / marketing) fairly describes what each skill does

What doesn't

  • “Repos nobody talks about” describes the MOST-talked-about repos in the Claude ecosystem — 100–270k stars is the opposite of obscure
  • “I run all 22 every day” is bad practice: 22 skills bloat context and compete to trigger — the list includes three separate be-brief skills (caveman, ponytail, i-have-adhd)
  • Unverifiable at claimed scale: claude-hub (best match 3.3k stars), hyperframes and find-skills (no matching repo found)
  • The “free install guide” is a comment-gated lead magnet feeding a course funnel, on slides marked “Contains AI-generated media”

The catch

The DM guide gates information that was never gated — every repo is public, and “nobody talks about” is what a funnel says about the things everyone talks about.

How to actually do it

  • Skip the comment gate — every repo on the list is public; install straight from GitHub
  • Pick 3–5 skills that match work you actually do: superpowers for planning, ONE brevity skill at most, one design skill
  • Don't install 22 of anything — more skills means slower, more confused sessions, not a smarter Claude
  • When a list item can't be found on GitHub at the claimed scale, treat the whole slide's sourcing as decorative

The stars are real and the curation is decent — the “nobody talks about” framing and the 22-at-once advice are the parts to leave in the comments.
