The list is good. It’s essentially the 2026 AI-engineer syllabus you’d find on roadmap.sh or in the standard AI Engineering textbook: RAG, agents, evals, observability, guardrails, governance — and the video’s own scroll-through shows the roadmap pointing at free public resources (DeepLearning.AI short courses, IBM Technology on YouTube, NVIDIA’s open-source NeMo Guardrails, Langfuse’s MIT-licensed observability, a Coursera responsible-AI course, a vendor’s EU AI Act explainer). Nothing on the roadmap costs money. What the reel doesn’t say is where the comment goes: the community behind it is a Skool group at $89/month (234 members as of today, with the about page noting the price rises at 500), and the “recruiters and hiring managers” on the daily calls are members who work at tech companies, not a placement pipeline. Two honest caveats on the content itself: seventeen bullet points is a table of contents, not “god-level” — there are no projects in it — and it skips prompt/context engineering, fine-tuning, inference cost and prompt-injection security, which any working AI engineer hits in month one. Fair roadmap, free resources, paid funnel.
What holds up
- The 17 concepts match the mainstream 2026 AI-engineer roadmap (roadmap.sh, the standard AI Engineering textbook) — nothing exotic, nothing wrong

What doesn’t
- “Comment AI” is a lead magnet into an $89/month Skool community — the roadmap is free, the price is what you find out later
- Seventeen bullets is a syllabus, not skill: no projects, no depth, and it omits prompt/context engineering, fine-tuning, inference cost and injection security
- “Daily calls with recruiters and hiring managers” means community members at tech companies — not a hiring channel, and the community’s own site quotes 176 days average to an offer
The catch
The roadmap is free and sound. The funnel is the product — $89 a month for accountability and calls, not for the curriculum.
How to actually do it
- Work roadmap.sh’s AI Engineer path and the AI Engineering textbook directly — same list, no gate
- Build two portfolio pieces, not seventeen notes: one RAG app over your own documents, and one agent with real evals in Langfuse (free)
- Only pay for a community if what you need is accountability and mock interviews — and confirm the refund terms in writing first
A legitimate, free-resource roadmap used as bait for an $89/month community — the list holds up; ‘god-level’ and the funnel don’t.
